Govya's Wedding Flowers, Lainston House

Bouquet of pink and red roses with white freesia for our bride. A diamante pin was added to the red roses for a touch of winter sparkle. The foliages included a touch of Myrtle, a foliage traditionally included in all british royal wedding bouquets since Queen Victoria included it in hers when she married Prince Albert.

Bridesmaid's bouquet of pink and ivory roses with pearl pin.

Wedding flowers at Lainston House,Winchester.
Low table centre of pink lilies, pink and red roses, freesia and purple lisianthus with central church candles.

The reception was held in the Dawley barn which was set up with one long table running the length of the barn. This length was decorated with 3 long and low designs incorporating the stunning lily "Mero Star" and "Aqua" and "Passion". The design featured 1 central larger design with 1 smaller design either side and the length of the table was then decorated with fresh scattered rose petals and clear table crystals for a touch of winter sparkle.

Amanda's Christmas Wedding Flowers

Winter wedding bouquet with a strong Christmas look of roses, holly, ivy, mistletoe, green pine, skimmia, mini fir cones and birch twig.
This really is a sneak preview as Amanda's wedding is not until tomorrow, the last Sunday before Christmas.. She asked me to create a very natural looking christmassy bouquet with a tiny touch of wild and I really loved creating this one. To help the theme along the british weather has done it's finest and yes that is snow you can see in the background. The bouquet has been safely delivered to Amanda so she is all set for tomorrow and no need to worry about a thing on the flower front.
Christmas / Winter bouquet of roses, skimmia, holly ( spineless! ) and tree fern for Amanda's bridesmaids. Co-ordinating designs with a slightly softer look to go with their pale burgandy dresses.

Now I know I have been getting behind on the blogging front - sorry. I expect you have been thinking now the main wedding season is over I had been winding down and putting my feet up for a bit. Not a bit of it ! Not only have I been busy with some fabulous winter weddings but I have also been kept very busy designing some really gorgeous schemes for 2011. I can't wait to start on those but first for those winter brides looking for ideas for their flowers I am posting a selection of some of the winter wedding flower designs I have been working on recently. Jo's Autumn Wedding Flowers

Jo's natural styled autumn wedding flowers.

Groom's autumn buttonhole of creamy vendella rose with berry and red oak leaf detail.

Jo's stunning wedding bouquet of cream roses, autumnal berries, birch twig and a surround of red oak leaves.

Natural styled rose and red oak leaf buttonhole for the remaining groom's men.

Co-ordinating buttonholes of preserved rose hips, birch twig and magnolia leaves. All materials are dried or preserved so that they could be kept after the wedding.

These corsages are again made entirely of dried or preserved materials - rose, magnolia leaves, skeleton leaves and peppercorn berries.

These preserved buttonholes and corsages were ordered by the bride's mum whose family comes from Malta. We were asked to create designs that would co-ordinate with the other flowers but that were made wholly from preserved or dried materials so that they be taken back to Malta after the wedding and kept as mementoes of the day.

The reception was held in a Mongolian yurt. Now I have to confess to not having seen these before meeting Jo but I have to say I think they look terrific and I am sure they will catch on fast. The cream canvas with the deep dark wood frame was the inspiration behind Jo's rich autumnal colour scheme and strong natural look. A mongolian buffet where all the food is placed in the centre of the each table meant traditional table centres were not going to work. Each table was scattered with fresh red oak leaves as a gorgeous alternative that tied in perfectly with the bridal party flowers.

Bridesmaids' bouquet of cream roses, hypericum berry, twig and surround of red oak leaves.

To keep the strong natural look, the binding point of the bouquet is finished not with ribbon but with a red oak leaf. The same leaf finish was given to the buttonholes.

Co-ordinating design for the flower girl.
Many thanks Jo and Zane for choosing me to design and create your wedding flowers for you. I loved working with these gorgeous seasonal materials.
