Clare's Wedding Flowers, New Place

A beautiful and very classic scheme in pink and ivory for Clare's January wedding at New Place. Brides often worry about flower availability in the winter months but in fact there is a huge choice available even in deepest January. You can go seasonal or do what Clare has done here and go for a completely classical and timeless look.

Classic bridal bouquet of pale pink and ivory roses, pink lisianthus, white bouvardia and a little foliage for Clare. All the flowers here are available all year round so no problems for winter brides with this design.

Buttonhole of Sweet Avalanche rose with a little collar of variegated foliage and white bouvardia under for the men.

Co-ordinating bridesmaids' bouquets of Sweet Avalanche and Avalanche roses, white bouvardia, pink lisianthus and variegated foliage for the bridesmaids.

Fireplace at New Place decorated with a mantle design of pink and ivory roses, candles and ivy trails and 2 co-ordinating pedestal arrangements either side. The overall effect was just beautiful.

The stunning fireplace and flowers in the Bristol room at New Place taken from the entrance door. It's all ready for Clare's wedding ceremony and this is the view as you walk in the door.

That just leaves me to say thank you so much Clare for asking me to design and create your wedding flowers for you. I loved working on these beautifully classic designs for you. Very many congratulations on your marriage.

Marilyn's Antique Purple and Cream Wedding Flowers, New Place

Here's one I did earlier because it has to be said I got a little behind on the blog - sorry - but Marilyn's antique purple and cream, vintage style flowers need to be seen.

Antique purple and cream roses, freesias and lily of the valley made a beautiful, vintage style and gorgeously scented bouquet for Marilyn.

Groom's buttonhole of cream rose and lilac freesia.

For the bridesmaids', co-ordinating vintage style bouquets using the antique purple and cream roses and freesias but substituting the lily of the valley with a touch of gypsophila.

Purple and cream corsages using cream rose with purple lisianthus and a touch of gypsophila with mixed eucalyptus.

The Fireplace at New Place looked stunning with a mantle design and 2 small stand designs in antique shades of purple and cream either side. The natural vintage style is perfect for the Bristol room

The Mantlepiece flowers, a trailing, vintage style design using antique purple and cream roses, freesias, purple lisianthus and gypsophila with mixed vintage style foliages. This was later used on the top table for the wedding breakfast.

Vintage style, purple and cream flowers in a tall vase for the wedding breakfast tables, again I have used antique shades of purple and cream roses, freesias, purple lisianthus, a little gypsophila and mixed vintage toned foliages to create the look. Scattered petals and tea lights finish it off at the base.

That just leaves me to say thank you so much Marilyn for asking me to design and create your wedding flowers for you. Very many congratulations on your marriage.

January 2014 Showcase, New Place, Shirrell Heath

It was a great pleasure to be at New Place yesterday to support them with their fabulous showcase event. For anyone that missed it or who would like another look at the designs I did, here they are;

Gypsophila, given a Great Gatsby twist for this lovely low table centre. I have added crystal droplets to the gypsophila and lisianthus and decorated the vase with vintage style lace for that necessary touch of opulence. The glass tea light holders are decorated with the same lace and a scattering of table diamonds on a mirror plate complete the look.

The vintage lace tea lights holders looked stunning.

Gypsophila and lisianthus vintage glamour style in this tall lily vase at New Place. Crystal drops, scattered table diamonds and vintage lace covered tea light holders complete the vintage glamour look.

Top table, Great Gatsby style in silver and white. A glorious mix of lisianthus, gypsophila, lace, crystals and candles.

Glass of white lisianthus, gyp and crystal sprays, Great Gatsby style. Mixed vases of flowers make a wonderful alternative for bride's looking for something different for their top table.

Lisianthus and gyp in miniature bottles on vintage lace doilies looked great in the mix. Either side are tea lights in frosted glass holders.

Gypsophila is deservedly very popular for weddings, used on mass it looks great and it's a bit kinder on the pocket than a lot of alternatives. We usually see it though in more rustic or traditional designs. I thought it would be great to give it a different and much more glamourous look. I hope you liked it.

Mantle piece design in buttermilk and pale green for the fireplace in the Bristol room at New Place. January heralds the start of the new year so it was great to use these gorgeous spring colours. People often think January is a difficult month for wedding flowers but I wanted to crush the myth. There are a fantastic selection of flowers available including all those  very pretty spring flowers. Here I have used David Austin roses, viburnum opulus and lisianthus for this trailing mantle design which can double as a top table piece.

Co-ordinating vintage style bouquet of Patience roses, freesias and pale green lisianthus with viburnum Opulus. I love the mix of buttermilk and fresh greens in this bouquet and the scent was just gorgeous. Perfect colours for a Spring wedding but just as lovely in January !

Andrea's Autumn Purple, Ivory & Green Wedding Flowers, Rhinefield House

A lovely, slightly autumnal with a hint of vintage look for Andrea's October wedding at Rginefield House. Purple is always popular but it can look a bit drab in low light levels so here we've brightened it up with a touch of pale lime and ivory.

Andrea's bouquet in purple, ivory, pale green and mauve using roses, lisianthus, calla lilies and skimmia with a few large pearls to add a little touch of vintage to this beautiful and slightly autumnal bouquet.
